I am an amateur artist living in Sheffield. I have always been interested in creative activities. I excelled at art at secondary school but then took the route of studying electronic engineering at third-level, which led to a long career in IT working in various companies and different sectors.
During the latter part of my IT career, I did formal evening courses, qualifications and ad-hoc day workshops in art subjects.
While living in Colchester I did evening painting classes. When I subsequently moved to Sheffield, I completed a series of evening classes in painting and drawing over the next few years with Sheffield College.
This was followed by a two-year evening part-time foundation in art and design at Chesterfield College.
I received a number of certificates from both colleges, marking my progress and accomplishments over the years.

Subsequent to that, I completed several art-related day and evening workshops, and also diversified into working in stained glass with Martin McAssey Workshop starting in 2022.
Today, I am working in various art media and techniques, and I am still attending the occasional new course to learn new skills. There is always something new to learn!
