I explored the use of alcohol inks as a medium in evening workshops with the Sheffield based artist Nicol Stokes in 2023 at Handmade in Nether Edge studios and in 2025 at ArtScene in Heeley, Sheffield. This is not an easy medium to master, behaving like a cross between ink and watercolour, and it can be difficult to guide the outcome.
2023 Workshop
During the 2023 evening class, I created several pieces using alcohol inks , including a circular framed piece and a small decorative piece.

2025 Workshop
I attended a second evening class in 2025, where this time the use of alcohol inks was augmented by using POSCA pens to draw on top.
I created one work which started off as a landscape and then morphed into an underworld fantasy seascape with strange sea creatures outlined by a white POSCA pen.
