Watercolours are not my favourite medium, however I do like its expressive quality and the unpredictable nature of how a picture may turn out. I prefer using watercolour in mixed media compositions, together with pencil or fine line ink pens. There are some examples of mixed media work on this page.

I first got exposure to watercolours and mixed media while doing drawing and painting evening classes at Sheffield College. Some examples from that period are shown on this page.

Many years later, I did an evening course again in beginners watercolours with Charde Fabian at ArtScene, Sheffield, learning more controlled techniques, as also indicated here.

Also, as part of a Nether Edge Festival art session, I practiced painting expressionistically on old OS maps as shown here.

I have also used watercolours with pen and ink as part of mixed media compositions, a few of which are shown on this page here.
